The Boone County CERT Council is a not-for-profit corporation that supports the CERT program of Boone County, IL.  As a not-for-profit corporation, we can solicit donations, and provide resources such as this website, as well as additional training and supplies that are not available through the government program.

We do not speak for the CERT program, we only try to support it.  It is not necessary to be a member of the Boone County CERT Council to be an active CERT Member, they are separate organizations, although we do share many members.

Our bylaws are available here: Bylaws

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, and disaster medical operations. Using their training, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event and can take a more active role in preparing their community. The CERT program is administered by FEMA at the national level, and is locally managed by the Boone County Emergency Managment Office of the Boone County Sheriff's Department.
